Eric, a Green Beret, is about to die from being held prisoner by jungle guerillas when he is whisked away by the Moyds. Their intention had been to find out if Olga's brother was alive or dead, but upon discovering him near death, beam him aboard the space ship for treatment. The Air Force's sudden interest in the ship necessitate a decision to leave immediately for Volarn. Hence, Eric gets to visit his sister, Olga.
Once on Volarn, Eric sees Kasha, the warrior princess and falls instantly in love with her. He tries everything in his powers to win her love, but friendship seems to be the only thing she desires.
Kasha is attracted to the handsome Earthman, but she only wants to remain Getra, a female warrior. She also has a secret which keeps her from marrying. When Eric pursues her relentlessly, she comes up with a plan. Seduce him. By becoming her lover, she can dissuade Eric to forget his dream of marrying her.
Kasha convinces Eric to go along on a hunting trip and wants to put her seduction plans to full use on the trip. A journey through the haunted wastelands and the discovery of a sick, baby dragon throw her plans awry. Taking the dragon back home, Kasha hopes raising the basami together, will bring the Earthman and her closer.
Puff's antics make for some great fun. But will Eric convince Kasha that marriage is right for them? Will the stubborn Kasha be able to resist the charming Earthman?
